MLB 2013 Season

Can someone make this sticky?

Only two days away.

I haven't been following all teams through spring training but I'm cautiously optimistic about the red sox this year. Looking forward to opening day as Lester appears to be on track and it's now looking like Jackie Bradley Jr. is going to start in the bigs after tearing up spring.

Had to laugh at the Yankees signing Vernon Wells. Yikes.

I think signing Lyle Overbay is even funnier.

Guy was an oxygen thief when he was with the Pirates.

Reds win the NL pennant with ease, not sure if they can defeat an AL team in a 7 game series.

I can laugh too hard at that because, for a spell, it was looking like Overbay was going to be the backup at 1st for the sox.

Bah we'll see, I like the nationals rotation more, but our offense is better.

The Reds have a bigger stud in Votto but the surrounding cast is more suspect. The Nationals are good 1 thru 9. And if Harper breaks out...look out. Plus their rotation is just unfair.

If the Nationals play up to potential, no one in the NL is touching them.

Went with MLBTV this year for the first time. Also picked up unlimited interwebs from Rogers. So far so good. Really liking MLBTV which, for the most part, is running steadily in hi-def.

I think Choo, Phillips and Bruce are well above average players. They deserve more credit.

Cozart, Frasier and (now) Haisey need to prove they can play in the majors this year or it's back to the drawing board for the reds.

Over a 7 game series the reds can contend with the nationals IMO, this weekend will be a fun gauge that's for sure.

I dont know about well above avg. Statistically speaking they have been avg to slightly above avg the past 2 years or so. And all three of them have seen their value decrease over the past couple seasons. Last year Bruce posted a 1.6 WAR. Thats what you would expect from a bench player, not a guy who played 155 games.

But there is only one way to find out.

The barometer is set high after last night.

15-0 :)

bitWise April 6th, 2013 10:01 AM

How about Chris Davis? A homer in each of the first 4 four games and 16 RBI. What a start.

REDS >>>>>>>>>>>>> Nationals

It's obvious.

Man, the Rays got screwed last night. That call was pretttttty horrible. That was definitely a ball lol.

That said....Go O's!

turningpoint April 9th, 2013 12:50 PM

Watched that entire 9 run 9th by the reds, hilarious watching the cardinals implode.

Ump came out today and even admitted he blew the call. It all evens out in the end though. I'm sure the Rays got some calls they shouldnt have as well.

Another loss for Toronto. I'm starting to feel bad for these guys. They need a string together a few wins. They look awful right now and lost.

Arod1983 April 10th, 2013 07:04 PM

Roy Halladay looks like crap

Ahh our 1st trip into the cozy confines of PNC park, time to get back on the winning track.

Do you live in Toronto? I was downtown watching a game with the boys last weekend, and the bitching was relentless.

Honestly - Brett Laurie is a huge part of this team.

Let's see if they can win their first series against Detroit today.

Just send your triple A ballclub, That should be enough to sweep the series.
