I really want to play the game, but I can't bring myself to spend money on a switch for just one title. Plus it sounds like they have to work out some issues with the hardware (the left joy-con and the freakin' dock scratching the actual Switch).
The only thing that disappoints me, watching others play it, is the weapons break far too easily. Other than that, it looks great.

![]() Last I checked my play time it was at '250 hours or more'.
I can't think of the last time, if ever, I've put this much time into a game. It's easily the most Ive ever put into a since play through. I've put over 70 into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and I thought that I played that a lot. I swear, I must spend every free waking moment on Zelda. I've had to ween myself off lately. It's just SO good. The scary thing is that I've only defeated 1 of the 4 Divine Beasts so far (I'm inside my second one right now), and I've been to afraid to venture anywhere near Hyrule Castle. I've never gone anywhere even close to it yet, because it just freaks me out. I haven't read anything in the way of FAQs or walkthroughs, and have only watched a few video reviews and I've avoided spoilers, but I'm pretty sure that I could have ended this game probably 10 times over at least in the time I'm put in, but exploring is just so fun that I haven't really been trying to advance the story all that much. I've still got maybe 30 shrines left to find. A couple I know about where they are, but find if I cant find the entrance, and I never bother with the whole photo locations thing. I probably should though. I'm one of the few people who doesn't really mind that the weapons break so often. My biggest issue is that you don't have the means to store away very many of them. You're allowed a few mounts at your house to store a few shields, swords, and bows, but it's very limited (3 of each, I believe). The normal weapons you find are anything but scarce, and you can expand your carrying capacity, so it's only annoying for a minute when your favorite shit breaks on you. I might actually bite and get the DLC. The only DLC I've ever purchased in my life was for Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU. Nintendo is the only company I don't seem to mind forking money for DLC out to.

I eventually switched games after putting like 380+ hours into BotW, and I wasn't even burned out!
This game is just made for like...everyone. Young folks with hours and hours to kill, older gamers like me that have limited gaming time. Hardcore players, casual ones, mobile/handheld gamers, at home console gamers... It's such a chill experience, and it's so easy to come back to. You can just put in 20 minutes here and there, or get lost in it for an entire weekend. This is easily the best open game world I've ever explored.
